Hardy recycled ripstop makes this jacket a durable choice, while the baffled design – complete with zipped pockets and a brushed tricot lining at the top of the draft flap – brings some street style to the mountains. There are air-permeable fleece panels at the underarms, too, which control airflow to help you maintain an even temperature. When the sun comes out, the whole jacket packs neatly away into a hand pocket so that it takes up less room while you’re on the move.

Retreat the garment To prolong the life of your weatherproof gear, you’ll need to retreat the garment to replace the waterproof coating after a certain amount of washes. If you notice that water is not beading as well as it did when you first purchased the garment, it may be time to retreat it. You can replace the durable water-repellent coating (DWR) with a spray-on or wash-in product, following the instructions carefully.  Machine wash Machine wash at 40°C or below with similar colours.
